Someone called, claiming to be from Macys and demanding that someone named Ray Kello owes money to them. I told them that there is no one named Ray Kello living here. In fact, ever since we received our new telephone number about a year ago, we have been plagued by various calls from various people, claiming that Ray Kello owes them money and needs to pay up right away - or else. We listed our numbers with the governments Do Not Call list. We contacted our governors office because we have been receiving calls from people claiming to be looking for Ray Kello for almost a year now. The governors office said we should just begin filing claims against these companies because, surely, by now, ALL of the people attempting to collect money from Ray Kello have had PLENTY of time to correct their records. We checked in the public records for our state and the last time that there is a record of anyone named Ray Kello even living in our state was 1952. This is either someone who has picked a name at random from a grave-stone or some scam artists who are making up names in order to scam people into giving out confidential information about themselves. We recommend that everyone else do what we have done - list your number with the governments DO NOT CALL list - and then begin filing charges when they persist in making unwanted calls.

Just got a call from this number - phone rang 4 times and they hung up. These scammers are calling from different numbers trying to get you. I do not answer the phone anymore unless I know who is calling. If they want me to call them back they can leave a message. I got scammed by these so called windows support group once - never again. Be very cautious do not give them the time of the day.

youre right. political and charitable calls are exempt from do not call lists. the DNC has worked for me in that LEGITIMATE organizations that follow the law dont call me anymore. Outside the political and charitable calls, the only other are spammers/phishers who are not following the law anyway, so I wouldnt see why they would bother to respect the list. I dont bother to report to the numbers anymore because the govt wont take the time to actually track down these illegal shops. Theyre too much of a moving target. the bottom line is that if someone dials your specific 10 digit number, your phone will ring. Any or all of their source information may be fictitious, so all you can do is block them on your end. Even still, theyre a moving target anyway, so the next time the source number is different than what youve blocked.

been on the donotcall.gov for as long as it has been available, even updated every couple years and STILL get these ridiculous bogus calls - but thanks for the suggestion

I just called the number back (6:14 MST) and a gal answered and was pretty nice. I gave her my phone number and she said she'd take my number off.
